A dive into elegance, history and nature: discover the Monterufoli Estate through the new virtual tour

Hectares of unspoilt wilderness, centuries-old trees, and a gem of a property with three separate buildings can now be visited with no need to leave home, using its new digital frontier: the virtual tour. Indeed, the stunning Tenuta di Monterufoli in Monteverdi Marittimo, only a stone’s throw from Pisa, is currently undergoing a major digitalisation process, opening new doors to the future of the tourist’s experience, just as Fattoria del Cerro did.

The use of technology used in the aerospace and automotive industries and the collaboration with Simone Castelli’s company FairSgate, enables anyone who wishes to do so to explore and discover the many treasures of this estate. Yet how does it work and what can you expect? We’ll tell you all about it here; in the meantime, get ready for a truly unique and immersive experience: welcome to the future, welcome to Monterufoli.

A virtual tour throughout the centuries

So, what happens when technology meets beauty and history? You can find out yourself by exploring – literally – the Monterufoli Estate through the new digital tour. It is an incredibly vivid and realistic experience, allowing you to fully investigate each of the Tenuta’s areas thanks to a unique combination of technology and physical reality, which has allowed us to transpose real space into a totally digital dimension. Thanks, indeed, to a very accurate laser scan performed by a dedicated software, every environment, element or object – from architecture to functional elements, such as digital wine labels – has been reproduced and processed. The result? A sort of ‘digital twin’ of the estate, which can be explored in every smallest detail, from the outside to the indoor rooms and, of course, the restaurant.

As happened with Fattoria del Cerro, the project required a lot of work, in which Castelli’s team scanned each environment: each scan was then aligned and turned interactive to allow users to “move” through this digital space and explore it. And the bonus? In addition to immersiveness, there is the possibility for users to have access to the complete range of Tenute del Cerro products and to make purchases directly through the virtual tour. But there’s more to it than that: another key aspect is also the multilingual adaptability of the tour, integrated directly into the navigation browser. This allows the preferred language to be automatically detected based on the user’s location, providing an optimised and engaging experience for international visitors.

By doing so, Tenute del Cerro increasingly distinguishes itself not only for the unquestionable value and quality of its Estates, but also for its ability to attract and involve an ever wider public, confirming itself as a prestigious destination on the international tourism scene.

“Beyond hospitality": discovering the Monterufoli Estate

Once owned by the wealthy Maffei family from Volterra, then by the Gherardesca, descendants of the most famous Count mentioned in Dante’s Divina Commedia, Tenuta di Monterufoli , set within a breathtaking nature reserve, truly is an hidden gem waiting to be discovered. It consists of two buildings, recently renovated, together with spaces dedicated to hospitality and the La Miniera restaurant.

The tour starts from the main villa known as the ‘Miniera’, which features 9 rooms, a suite and a flat with an independent entrance, all equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV and wifi. We then continue on to the Scuderie which instead feature 2 rooms and 2 independent Tuscan-style flats with magnificent views over the valley.

An open window into the future of tourism

The digitisation of our estate is more than just a simple visualisation: it is an intuitive, interactive and immersive experience that allows users to move back and forth fluidly and explore the structure. You can zoom in on every architectural detail, walk through the interior corridors, visit the flats and rooms, imagine yourself sitting at the restaurant table and discovering the secrets contained in the cellar, all from the comfort of your device. A simple, engaging and informative digital journey that takes the visitor through centuries of history and the timeless beauty of the Monterufoli Estate, offering a new and unprecedented perspective.

The physical and digital dimensions meet to create a third space: we are talking about “phigital”, which represents the future of the tourist experience. Integrating the services provided by a physical accommodation facility with those made available online will become increasingly fundamental, and here Tenute del Cerro is absolutely leading the way.

Explore the Tenuta di Monterufoli estate with one click before you even visit it: your next digital adventure awaits, ready to let you uncover all the secrets of one of Italy’s most charming estates!
