Tasting notes
Tenuta di Montecorona

Umbria is known as the Green Heart of Italy. And the green gold that flows in Umbria is certainly olive oil, of which the PDO is the highest expression.
At our Montecorona Estate, we have a total olive grove area of about 35 hectares, focused on the Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Dolce Agogia, Pendolino, and Borgiona varieties.
The expertise of our master oil maker in managing and separately harvesting the different cultivars, which are then combined into a perfect blend, is the foundation of the PDO Umbria extra virgin olive oil. Intense and powerful, rich in vegetal notes of leaf and distinct hints of artichoke and balsamic herbs
Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, Dolce Agogia, Pendolino and Borgiona.
The aroma is intense and complex, characterized by vegetable notes, with clear sensation of balsamic herbs and artichoke. It has well balance spicy bitter tones, characterized by sweet almond on the ending. It is excellent on row meat starter, vegetable soup, roasted porcini mushrooms and grilled red meat.
The Tenuta di Montecorona, with its 2000 hectares of land, the beautiful Badia in the center, and the ancient Camaldolese Hermitage that dominates the entire valley, stands as one of the most important agricultural realities in its area.
