Silìneo Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG​

History of wine

Silìneo is the most classic wine of Fattoria del Cerro. A wine that encompasses the grapes from all the vineyards owned by the estate and aims to show how true the 'modern classicism' of Vino Nobile is, thanks to an innovative production specification that is at the same time respectful of the potential of Sangiovese in Montepulciano

The name of the wine, a neologism, is inspired by the sensations that the wine has the power to evoke: elegance, sinuosity, and balance. It also aims to visually express the call to the elegant and harmonious shapes of the hills that host our vineyards.

Vinification and maturation

Fermentation and maceration at controlled temperature (24°-28°C) with daily pumping over; after the racking, wine is transferred into big oak
barrels where it will age for at least 18 months ageing.

Tasting notes

Cherry and little red fruit at the nose. Elegant and bold at the palate with a long lasting finish.

Pairings

Roasted meat dishes and seasoned cheeses are the perfect matchings.

Fattoria del Cerro

Fattoria del Cerro, located in Montepulciano (Acquaviva), in the province of Siena, extends over 600 hectares of property, of which 181 are vineyards. With its 93 hectares registered in the Vino Nobile register, it is the largest private producer of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
